THE NEW STUDY

IDEA BOX

Use the ideas below to make your study more interesting and engaging.

If you have an idea, share it HERE.

1) Jesus IS God Spoken Word- video (4:02)

Great spoken word talking about how Jesus is God.

2) Who is Jesus?- video (6:00)

Well made video explaining how we can know that Jesus is God.

3) Lord, Liar, Lunatic– video (2:06)

Click here. From the Josh McDowell Ministry; a new look to a timeless defense.

4) Tru U #3: Who is Jesus

Another great video from Focus on the Family about who Jesus is.

5) A Friend In Need

Have each person write an anonymous need in their life they’d like Jesus to meet and place it in a bag/box. Have each student come up and, without looking, select a friend’s need from the bag to bring to Jesus. Explain they can say a 1-2 sentence prayer, (like the friend of the paralytic in Mark 2:1-12). After all students have gone, close with a summary prayer. You can decide whether or not to allow them to pick again if they pick their own need.

A prayer for our friends:

As our friends have challenges, help them to endure each and every step. Guide them so that they may make good choices. Be their strength!

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

3) Questions Under Fire (Focusing Beyond Distractions)

It’s hard to focus on what matters when we surround ourselves with distractions. Loud, fast, funny game w/a point! Choose 1-4 volunteers. Bring them up one at a time to ask 14 questions (see below). Whichever contestant can answer 10 of them in 60 seconds wins (candy, pop). They may “pass” as many times as they want and come back to a question later. As soon as you begin the questions, others distract the contestant by yelling out random statements, answers, or noises. They can even get out of their seats and do goofy things as long as they don’t get in the person’s face or touch them. Below are 4 sets of questions. You may switch questions around or make up your own. Some of the questions have definite answers; some are random or silly.
